I’m healing . . . is a collaborative effort between sisters Madeline and Jacquelyn Cortopassi, founders of Healer Holistic Skincare, a sanctuary of a spa in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood.

Both sisters are holistic estheticians who share an interest in the healing potential of touch, sensory experience, and somatic care.

Before becoming an esthetician, Jacquelyn studied psychology, where she developed a particular interest in the flow state and explored the subject through her senior thesis. She is now continuing her education in nursing, expanding her understanding of the body and healthcare from another perspective.

Madeline has spent the past four years working with the skin and is currently pursuing her massage therapy license with a concentration in Shiatsu—a Japanese form of bodywork that incorporates principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, dynamic stretching, and acupressure.

Together, their work at Healer is rooted in the belief that skincare and bodywork can be more than treatments for the surface of the body;

they can be opportunities to slow down, reconnect with the senses, and support the body’s own capacity for healing.
